Over the past 4 weeks, I have explored the benefits of CoPilot, Microsoft’s AI that turns your words into a powerful productivity tool.
As a member of the Digital Transformation team, I use various tools from the Microsoft suite. From Word, Outlook, Teams, and Power Apps I interact with data in many different forms.
Having a tool like CoPilot allows me to connect to my data in several different ways.
Teams:
Teams is where I host my meetings and communicate with my colleagues on day-to-day tasks. With the power of CoPilot, I can now use Teams to recap and summarise important messages and threads throughout the day. Meeting with clients and recording notes is now an effortless task as CoPilot transcribes the meeting and summarises actionable tasks that need to be completed.
Outlook:
Like Teams, Outlook is a core tool that I use every day to contact clients or members of HCS for projects. Being integrated into a project that is 50% complete can require a great deal of reading through emails to get up to speed. CoPilot replaces the need to scroll through lengthy email threads by summarising the content into easy-to-digest chunks of information.
Word:
Using CoPilot I can now quickly generate documents like project proposals, user guides, and training manuals using previously crafted documents. By referencing a document that I have previously used and writing a prompt like “Generate a template for a project proposal using //proposal.docx” CoPilot can now create a document as a strong foundation for me to develop.
Power Apps:
Within HCS, Power Apps is a tool that is used by the Digital Transformation team to create bespoke apps as a solution, or as part of a solution to a client’s problem. CoPilot allows developers like me to generate and analyse lengthy snippets of code which would have otherwise been solved through online resources. Now my time can be spent developing a solution, and not scrolling through web pages and threads.
Overall, my experience with CoPilot has been beneficial to myself, my team, and my organisation by reducing time spent on tedious tasks and freeing up my time to focus on the more challenging problems. I am excited to see how this tool grows, and how I can use it in the future.
